Flex High understands the importance of developing partnerships in the community – which was demonstrated at our Cleveland school’s recent Slam Dunk Saturday event.
Tying the theme into the Cavaliers NBA playoff dreams, the school hosted a huge open house event for its new Annex location at the Richmond Heights site, with 400 students, families and community members in attendance. The Cavs’ official DJ provided the tunes while food and games kept the crowd happy.
Flex hosted 11 community partners including Communities in Schools, Ohio Guidestone and the City of Cleveland, helping students find roles in public safety careers after high school. Principal Sterlekar was excited to see the community come together to celebrate the school in such an impactful way.
“We loved having the support of our partners and the city to show our students that together, anything is possible.”
Staff and students gave tours of the Flex campus and described the school’s personalized learning model that has helped so many students either catch up on credits or to advance faster than they might in a traditional school.
